Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed right now. You just took a pregnancy test, and it was positive. Maybe the thought of making another hard decision feels like more than you can handle. Maybe you wish you could just run away from all your problems, hoping they would go away.

You’re not alone in thinking that. I think it’s safe to say we’ve all been there a time or two.

Something I’m continuing to learn is that when life feels overwhelming, it’s usually because I’m looking too far into the future—to the unknown—and that’s often what feels the scariest. We weren’t created to know which steps to take tomorrow or a week from now. I think that’s why life can feel so overwhelming sometimes. Focusing on taking one step at a time is a lot easier than thinking about climbing five flights of stairs.

Maybe that’s why we’re supposed to live in the present—to ask for help when decisions feel overwhelming and to break down what feels big into smaller, more manageable steps.

At Cecil Pregnancy and Family Resource Center, our desire is to be a safe place—a place where you can come with your questions, doubts, and fears. A judgment-free zone where you can talk about what is overwhelming you.

We would love nothing more than to help you talk through a tough decision. We never want you to feel pressured into making a rushed decision. Our goal is for you to be as informed as possible so that you can make a decision you won’t regret years down the road.

Whatever you may be facing today, you don’t have it to go through it alone. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, we are here to listen, and to support you— one step at a time.

We believe in you.
